Artist's Comments

This is the cover design for SUNRISE, a zombie novel by the talented writer Kody Boye, which will be published under the Library of the Living Dead banner.

The central characters take refuge from the undead at an asylum.

The building is one section of the many abandoned buildings at the Fairfield Hills asylum here in CT. Creepy and cool place, I had taken the photos a few years ago and finally found a use for them.

The photo I took, the arms are mine. The sun and a few textures were purchased from istock.

Looks awesome, apart from maybe the fact that the arms look just a bit too obviously shooped in. Even from so close, they could have benefited from some blurring and a discoloration towards the red side from the light. I'd suggest blurring them a little, especially toward the end, and changing the colors slightly so that they also capture the red of the sunset. Or sunrise, apparently. Otherwise they look a bit out-of-place.
